Wow. It's been nearly a year since I posted here. It's been crazy and there are a few things I'll be writing about shortly but first I've got to get a post out that I should have made months ago.
The Star Frontiers community is hosting an on-line virtual gaming convention. It's coming up this weekend (March 9-11). It is completely free and completely on-line. The focus is playing Star Frontiers. We have at least three game sessions already scheduled and as the organizer, I know of a couple more that are in the wings. So if you want to play Star Frontiers, jump over to the Star Frontiers VirtualCon 2012 web site to check it out and sign up.
More to come later including a writeup about the con but that's it for now. I'm running two games and need to finish them up.

No more updates! I'm sad I missed this virtual convention. I've been itching to play some SF but PbP games are hard to come by...
Never did get to posting a write up. But you're in luck. I'm in the process of setting up another one for the 14-15 of September. And if you want to get in on a PbP game, jump over to http://rolld20.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=starfrontiers. We're waiting for a few more players.
I registered a few days ago-- I'd love to play. However, the admins haven't approved me so I'm in limbo. Once I'm approved, I'll post there and happily join in a game!
Still waiting to be approved. I'm not sure how to prod someone into doing something about this.
Perhaps you could send a PM to one of the administrators? It's sort of stupid to sit here for a week and not get someone to just approve this. And if no one on that forum is willing to be active enough to respond to an email that says "hey, you have a new participant to your forum waiting to be activated" then they should perhaps quit, or change the setting of their site, or something else.
I e-mailed him yesterday. The site admin is the guy running the games and it looks like he hasn't been on since the 31st. If I wasn't so busy with some other projects (one of which comes out Friday) I'd probably run a new game myself.
Still no luck. Quite frustrating-- but I guess if the guy running the game is also running the board, it doesn't matter if I had access or not. Oh well.
You know, there are other forums to run a PbP RPG. I'd be happy to try to run a game (even if I'm a bit rusty) somewhere else, if you can get a few more PCs. I'd even be happy to run one as a "hireling" to create a viable party.
If you want to run a game, drop on over to http://starfrontiers.info and hit the forums there. I specifically set up that site for PbP games. You can announce the game on the http://starfrontiers.us and http://starfrontiers.org forums to round up players.
